Principles & Goals

It was satisfied customers who allowed Otto Baum to prosper over the years. It was true then and remains so today. Otto Baum and his sons kept customers satisfied for years without a strategic plan, a mission statement or even a written set of values. We came by our values naturally, and they were enough to sustain and grow our business for three generations. However, in more recent years, we have decided to codify our values, principles, and goals for the benefit of the growing Otto Baum organization.

OBCI succeeds when our employees are fully engaged, equipped, and motivated.

It was honesty, integrity, fairness, personal growth and innovation that got us where we are, and we’re working to ensure that our employees will continue operating by the same values.

In addition, we seek to maintain a balance between three principles: productivity, quality and safety. It is equally important that we complete each job in a timely manner, build according to specs, and watch out for the well being of everyone on our job sites. For the benefit of our customers and shareholders, we will diligently pursue each of these principles without sacrificing either of the others.

Because our employees are so critical to that balance, we invest heavily in education, training, leadership and appreciation. OBCI succeeds when our employees are fully engaged, equipped and motivated. By God’s grace, we will continue succeeding in the same manner for years to come.
